Ryoga04

Hey Sango-chan! I would like to expand Ozuno's article, so can you tell me if he appears in a lot of chapters or just a few? Also, the Wiki's font - Microsoft YaHei, it's a Chinese font, right? The rest of the text appears in Times New Roman to me, so can we change it as well?

  Html font in MediaWiki:Common.css :) You've added Microsoft YaHei, which is a Chinese font. UY wiki does not have any Chinese characters (except for few words in kanji) and so the English text are displayed in Times New Roman, the default font. I don't know if it's just for me though.

  Even though this wiki is in English, my opinion is in oder to make something more special than other wikis and attracting more contributers, we must do something special than the others. You see, for example, there are 2 women; one is like to have makeups and wear beautiful cloths and the other one doesn't like. When you see both of them, you must have more interests on seeing a woman with beautiful appearance than the normal one. Just like you see Kyoko-chan for real. :P

I notice a lot of anime wikis often do Given then Family in terms of first/last, family is first here though. I gotta make sure to remember that.
I find if we do open with given names, it really gives an added value to family categories though since they can order by the surname which one normally can't do when categories organize by given names.
Seeing as how most people remember the given names more often, having them first makes them easier to find in a category listing. Especially since many characters only have a single (presumably given) name.

Those categories should be in surnames, but those categories werem't created by me other Ryoga, they might be the other users created those pages before I was given rights to become the next admin.   Hi there, few days ago I was discussing this topic with another admin in this wiki. Previously we had another discussion that almost related to this before you sent a message for me. As you suggested, given names are easy to be remembered by most of the fans since those names are mentioned in every occasion, but as you know, UY is an old anime and English dubbed series are fewer than nowadays anime. AnimEigo translated their names by following the original; family names first, then given names. The reasons why admins like us don't wanna change the format are avoiding confussions, and it is the unique point in UY series that other anime wikis don't have, so with the family categories.
  Since Sakura doesn't have official family name, we just stick to her given name in title or in family category. And as you know in the InuYasha Wiki, you can see they named Kikyo as "Kikyō". Normally in anime and manga they didn't add specific character, but it's true that "ō" derived from "ou"; Mendou Shuutarou, Shirai Kousuke, Mizunokouji Asuka [...], were used in AnimEigo. :)

  Using double vowels rather than single vowel + accent is usually also helpful since we often tend to simply omit accents when typing out names, which can lead to confusion in pronunciation when different kinds of accents are ommitted (like not knowing if it's oo or ou, etc.)

  Yep, the doomsday. I had seen a documentary on Discovery Channel back when the film 2012 was released. They talked about this too. BTW, Sango-chan, I'm thinking of closing the Kimagure Orange Road wiki as I can't manage it. What is your opinion? Should I close it?   It's not a big deal I can add their names in kanji, unfortunately unlike Chinese language that have specific pronoun ways, in Japanese language there are several ways (3 or 4 ways) to pronoun single word. In other wordsthey have different kinds of kanjis are having the same pronoun, in anime world is more confused. Few weeks ago, I searched MadHouse web, I found those characters' names in OVA series, but without family names. Maiko's name will be 舞子 (literal meaning "dancer"),whereas Mamoru is 守 (literal meaning "protect"). :)

  Masahiro's name is in katakana form, マサヒロ. Not kanji, nor hiragana. Perhaps this name brings pun.
  The male spirit is 舞鶴 Maizuru, whereas female spirit will be 御前崎 Omaezaki. ==+
